P.J. (Pierre) van den Hoogen(1963)

Pierre van den Hoogen became a lawyer in 1990, after attaining a degree in Dutch Law from the Catholic University of Nijmegen (1984-1988), and a degree in Notarial Law from the same university (1989).

Pierre van den Hoogen works for private individuals and for businesses but he also takes legal aid cases. He specialises in regular immigration law, assisting professional football organisations in the matter of transferring players (including juniors) and in arranging their residence status. He is furthermore active in the law of obligations, representing international, foreign companies in the Netherlands. As a result of the focus on immigration law in his practice, his clientele is primarily foreign and he has sufficient basic knowledge of the law of persons and family law and of criminal law to assist his clients in such matters as well. He receives regular referrals in this context for legal aid cases from social organisations such as women’s refuges, refugee organisations and social services due to his specific knowledge of immigration law and the associated legal issues that affect people seeking justice.

Apart from his work as a lawyer, Pierre van den Hoogen is also on the committee of an association. He is also a member of the Commissie Bestuursrecht (Administrative Law Commission) of the District Court of Den Bosch and the Orde van Advocaten (Bar Association) Den Bosch.

Pierre van den Hoogen has registered the following legal practice areas in the Netherlands Bar’s registration of legal practice areas (rechtsgebiedenregister). Based on this registration, he is required to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in each registered principal legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.

  • Family law

  • Criminal defense law

L.S.T.H.(Bas) Ruijters (1970)

Bas Ruijters has been working as a lawyer since 1998. He graduated in Dutch Law from the University of Utrecht in 1995, specialising in public economic and business law, as well as in legal practice pertaining to private law and criminal law.

After graduating, Bas Ruijters worked as a registrar at the District Court in Breda, successively in the Law of Persons and Family Law Sector and the Criminal Law Sector. In addition, he held the post of secretary to the Review Committee for the Women’s Penal Institution in Breda.

Bas Ruijters worked in a medium-sized Eindhoven law firm for the first five years of his career, where he began specialising in criminal law after a few years. He has been a partner in the Van den Hoogen & Ruijters Advocaten partnership since 2003.

Apart from criminal law, Bas Ruijters specialises in immigration and asylum law, having taken the required specialisation courses after the end of the 1990s.

His broad experience of criminal law and immigration law means that he is not only able to assist clients in the individual areas of the law, but also on the common ground between criminal law and immigration law. A criminal conviction, for example, can have consequences for residency status.

And finally, Mr Ruijters is also able to assist you in matters concerning the law of persons and family law, where there may also be common ground with immigration law. For example, a legal separation or divorce can in some cases have consequences for a residence permit.

Bas Ruijters has registered the following legal practice areas in the Netherlands Bar’s registration of legal practice areas (rechtsgebiedenregister). Based on this registration, he is required to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in each registered principal legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.

  • Criminal defense law

  • Family law
